As we pass through the shadow of Mt. Newton or Lau Welnew, (the back of a whale) to the first Nations People at 1007 ft. it is the tallest on the Peninsula and into the rich farmland of the Newton Valley. We have an opportunity to sample more than just wine on this afternoon trip, locally distilled Victoria Gin and Eau de Vive from Winchester Cellars, we will visit Chalet Estate Winery, the oldest on the Peninsula, from here we are offered a little taste of Jamaica, as we enjoy the unique fruit wines of Marley Farm and finally rounding out the afternoon relaxing on the patio of Sea Cider, looking east out over the apple orchards, towards James Island and on a clear day Mt. Baker rising in the distance. Tour departs Victoria approx. 1pm returning 5pm. |
