Departing from Victoria we travel north through picturesque Goldstream Provincial Park and over the scenic Malahat Drive with its lush old growth rain forest, the park is world famous for its annual return of thousands of chum salmon and many bald eagles. From here we begin the Malahat Drive, marvel at the breathtaking view from the summit 356 meters (1,156 ft) above Brentwood Bay and the Saanich Peninsula with Mt. Baker rising in the distance. 

As we descend in to the Cowichan Valley, derived from a Coast Salish word meaning ‘Warm Land’. This Northern Mediterranean type climate offers plenty of variety for our enjoyment, its country lanes wandering through rich farmland, stands of old growth forests, mountains to ocean, wine to cider, cheese to chocolate, there is something for everyone.
